hey massey guys, i am purchasing what i believe is a massey 44-6 cyl, how and where do i properly identify if it is the correct motor? thanks

I am restoring one myself.Feel free to ask any questions you have especially about parts here.I am finding there is a lot of knowledge about the 6s here at this site.They are a great tractor to restore.Not that many left.

The 44-6 had a 226 continental engine.There should be a number stamped on the side of the engine block.The distributor will be on the top of the head along with the spark plugs.The serial number of the tractor will also help to determine for sure what one you have.
