Hi Matt You don"t say what your problems are that you are having, but if it"s to do with starting this has always been a problem with the 23C engine. Mine even after a rebuild (not by a professional I must add) would still not start without Ether when cold, but this is not to be used as the engine will always need it. Once started however it is a very strong engine. Ferguson exported the FE 35 fitted with the 23C engine to Canada and Australia, the Canadian export had a modification to the engine which included glow plugs to all four cylinders and a water heater, this I am told will start the engine down to -20 deg. I was at a vintage tractor show a couple of years ago and had a very interesting conversation with a motor engineer, who was telling me and a few other collectors that there was nothing wrong with the 23C engine to which some of the old farmers there related their memories on starting this engine, but he was still adamant the engine was still a very good engine and carried on to explain that the likely cause of poor compression on starting was mostly down to a wrong head gasket being fitted, which if too thick would give poor compression, no one believed him but that"s old farmers for you! I"ve had fuel problems on starting mine were the tractor would start but then die away. I tried all the usual things and more but without success but on posting this problem with all the checks on various Ferguson sites I received info on the fuel pump which should not be touched unless you have the experience, there is another fuel filter in it and on mine it was blocked and that was the problem! Has run better since being cleaned and I think with more power, must have been starving the injectors over a long time. Carry on posting replies or email me direct and I will try to help you, or point you in the right direction to find the answers. Good luck BOB UK England
