I am considering buying a 1 owner 1980 MF265 with 3100 hrs. This model has a cab and I was wanting to know if all 265"s came with cabs. This machine has been serviced regularly and is mechanically sound. It also has a brand new set of front and rear tires. The guy wants $6500.00. Is this a fair price to pay? What might the value of this machine be? Thanks, Rick

They were aftermarket cabs either a Laurin or a Simms cab. The Laurin was a better cab. Not a bad price if the hour are original and its in good shape.

I would question why new tires at 3000 hours. I have a 1983 MF690 with over 4000 on the original tires, rear are about 70% now, front about 30%. Around here MOST tractors have the meter turned back for sale. Ask to see his records of maintenance, which should show hours.

No, all 265"s did not come with cabs, in fact most "didn"t". If the hours are truly "original" then it"s not a bad price, assuming that everything else checks out.
