I picked up a 175 diesel yesterday that I believe will need another injector pump. It will be a couple of weeks before I will be able to spend much time on it to start checking things out but I thought I might start getting some of the ducks in a row. Is there a supplier on the net that can supply an IP for this tractor either rebuilt or new or is the dealer the only option?

Usually it is much cheaper to take the pump to a fuel injection pump shop and have it rebuilt than it is to replace the pump. The first thing to do is be sure you have all the air bled from the fuel system If I can be of further help Email me

It"s not a matter of air or things such as plugged return lines, it"s appears to be some sort of mechanical malfunction in the throttle system of the pump. The throttle arm will not fully return to the low idle screw. It is working in the upper half of the rpm range only. About the only thing I have been able to do is to disconnect the throttle linkage from the pump to verify it wasn"t just the linkage binding up.

I live about 45 miles north west of Louisville Kentucky in southern Indiana and there is an injector and turbo shop in Lou. I had them rebuild a pump off a 6.2l GM diesel a few years back but assumed they did truck work only. Now that I think about it, that might well be a bad assumption.

Things will calm down around here by Monday (Christmas and a 26" snowfall in the last 36 hours) and I will ring them up and see.

I just got this pup home Wed. afternoon late and the stuff started to hit the fan about 4:30 AM Thurs. morning.
