One little ugly red tractor. (But I kinda like it.) Wheelbase is about 82 inches, width of rears adjustable from about 72 to 84 inches. Rear tire size is 10 x 28. 4 cylinder flat head engine. Might be a model 20, 30 or 81. Told it was an 81 by a mechanic. An old farmer said it was a model 30. Don't know where the serial number would be on this tractor - haven't found it. I think it's a four speed tranny - engine isn't running yet, so haven't tried it. No PTO.

Darn little thing was broke right in half when we got it. Husband got it back together, and we were going to sell it, but I decided that it would pull my ground driven manure spreader in good order.

Still haven't found any numbers on this little red runt. Weather will be better tomorrow, and I'm going to go over it with a microscope!

I'm just worried about getting parts if I can't identify it, particularly engine stuff. The engine hasn't been run in several years - not since the tractor broke in half, probably 8-9 years ago. It turns still - not frozen - but heaven only knows how it will run once we get it started. We don't know any history on this machine.

I would say,it is either a 20 or a 22. The only difference between the two is the engine. The 20 used the F124 engine, while the 22 used the F140 engine. If you look at the tin that goes up to the dash, it has a round hole in it, down near the frame. I don't think the 81/82 had this hole. The engine side cover's on the 81/82 came down to the frame in the front. The 20/22 side cover's came down to about where they are in the picture. So, I would say it's a 20/22 with a 81/82 grill in it.

Don't think it could a 22.The grille isn't right.According to my picture of a 22, it isn't a louvered grille like the 20 and older.The 22 grille is like the 30s and 44s.

It could also be a Mustang (Model 23)

It could be one of four models. They are the following #20,#22,#81 and #82.There is a serial number stamped into the frae rail or the top of the rear-end houseing. If you can find it and post it someone will be able to tell you the correct model and year.

If you are missing the I D plate on the left side of the main frame you will find them also stamped on the top center of the transmisson housing. It may take a little scraping with a pocket knife to remove excess paint and dirt. Uless it is a very early model 22 judging from the sheet metal you will find it will be an 81 or 82 or a model 20. If the serial # does not confirm one of these models you do not have the correct sheet metal on your tractor.

I believe (from looking at the grills) its an 81 or 82

the difference beeing gas or distilate as the 22 and 23 were a bit later and I am thinking the grills on those were more like the ones of a 44
