I forgot how long I have had my 1969 Massey UK Orchard 135 but looked into the arcives and relised I got it August of 2002 and it has been over 2 years now. Well the comment is that I have had NO PROBLEMS with it except a dirty fuel filter and a new dist cap, plugs, points and wires. I use it all the time year round and very happy with it. I do not baby it either and work it hard sometimes to hard doing things around the ranch. It has allways started, it got stuck in gear last year but only once and I have not had that problem since. It is a Perkins Gas 3 cylinder the hour metter is stuck on 9640 hours so not sure what it has. Great tractor and just ranting a little about it! Mark H.

It must have been one of the best tractors ever made. We bought one new in 1965. (I do not know what it cost them at the time, I doubt it was any where near 1000). It worked every day until we sold it in 1996 and it made 1800. Apart from tyres, fan belts and batteries all it ever had done to it was 1 rocker cover gasket, 1 control valve for the 3 point. 1 exchange dynamo and 1 PTO seal.

HI Roy,
As far as I can remember the 135 belonging to my neighbour cost 530. How do you work out the depreciation on that in nearly 40 years of service? It's .036/p per day. Not many give you that value for money.

I have two MF 135's; one perkins disel and one three cylinder perkins gas. I work both of them on the farm daily. I enjoy driving these great tractors.

What more can I say that has not already been said? My 135 diesel is 1965. We bought it in 1972. It does most of its work during the harvest and driving a Fisher-Humphries flail in the Autumn. For economy, versatility, manoeuverability and just a joy to drive.....its unbeatable. It is now 39 years old, a neigbhour has one of the same age. How many of today's electronic will be around in 39 years from now? Bet there will still be 135's around.

I will agree they are a very good tractor. I have had mine for about the same length of time as you, only problem i had was water in the transmission oil. Easily solved. Starts first time, every time, even though shes only on a 44ah battery!

Mines a 64 UK diesel

Mine also works for a living, dragging some seriously heavy hay trailers in the summer and working long days with no problems.

I do need to repair or replace one disk brake it does not work well on the left side, been that way since I had it.The other one will lock the tire with not much presure at all on the pedal same thing was that way when I got it. Looks like a fair amount of work to get to them maybe pulling the trumpet not sure do not have a manual for the 165 rear end with the planitary gears and disk brakes. Mark H.
