Hello,
I'm wondering if there's any way to find out the serial number of my Massey Harris 555 Diesel. The serial number tag is beaten and unreadable. Is there any other place it's located on the tractor?

Thanks,
Russ

The serial number is stamped into the top of rear-end houseing on the left-hand side just ahead of the clutch pedal. You may have to clean off some paint to read it.Send me the number and I will be able to tell you what year it is.

We have recently purchased a Massey Harris tractor for restoration, however it is unknown at this time what the Massey is? The metal plate on that is supposed to be located mid way on near the rear of the tractor is missing. Stamped into the casting next to the clutch pedal is the following:
763396M2
Is there a way of finding out the model and year by this serial number? Thanks
BJ

Take your snow shovel with you on the way to see your 55 Bruce. At least up here you'd have to. How much snow did you get down there?
