The brakes are very poor on my recent purchase. Is this characteristic of this model? Are there any modifications possible and recommended? Am in the market for parts to convert from manual to power steering.

Hi John,
Can't help with the PAS but might be able to with the brakes assuming you have discs fitted.
Is there any sign of 'grabbing' of the brakes when you apply them. The wheel/s might lock with the lightest of application?
Does the pedal 'feel' OK but with poor performance?
If it is the former, your brake actuators are probably worn out and possibly the discs.
If it is the latter, sounds more like the axle shaft seal has allowed oil to get onto the discs. Either way the axle housings have to be removed to rectify it.
Regards
David P

David P, Thank you for your comments. I think the problem must be with the grease seals.
