Im rewiring my MF65 diesel, I have the wiring diagram, but they don't list the gauge of wire to
use. The old wires look to be around 12ga. Does anyone have a diagram that shows wire size to use?
Or make any sugestions for me.
Thanks

Good morning, Pete -

16 ga will work for all circuits except the feed from the hot starter terminal to the ammeter. 14 is better for this, and if you've installed an alternator 14 is better suited to the output from it.

My 65 keeps pitting points. I completely rewired am have been told that I need a special wire to go between the coil and the points. Anyone know about this?
Also, rebuilt hydraulics. front end bucket is very slow and feels like a lot of pressure against the handle as I atempt to lower or raise the arms. Any suggestions? Great running and staring tractor since I rebuilt.

Hi. A lot of ignition systems have either a resister of a section of resistance wire in series with the coil and points. Some coils (automotive) also have a resister built in. You might try an ignition resister on the battery side of the coil. One for a 98 dodge pickup would work. I've done this on six to twelve volt conversions with great results. If your tractor didn't use or need a resistance in line with the points and coil then the problem most likely is a bad condenser. Sorry about being a little windy but hope this helps. Billy
