It never ends, It appears that the starter problem was due to low batteries. Alternator is not charging properly, there is a black and white wire that run to the alternator, however only the white one is connected. where does the black wire go? But, Now that the batteries were charged, I started the tractor and about 3 minutes later, it started surging again and quit. Lost it's prime yet again, Where do I start this time????? I'm ready to tow it up to a cliff and push it over...

I finally think I have it Fixed yet again. It was simply a broken wire from the alternator to the switch, actually still not sure of which one goes where, but I have a charger on the batteries and it now turns over and stops turning over when I release the key so that is a good start. As for the Fuel problems, I finally removed the "New" lift pump that I had installed about 3 months before all my fuel problems started. When I compared it to the old one closely, I finally realized that the "Nose" of the new pump was approximately 1/2" shorter than the old pump. I dis assembled both pumps and took the diaphram out of the "new" pump and installed it in the Old pump. I re installed the old pump and primed the system. It seems to be running great again. I ran it for 10 minutes last night and it never quit. I can't believe that fricking pump caused me all that grief.

As far as the charging issue, Help yourself out and get a new internal regulated delco alt. One key hot and the battery lead (I think it actually goes to the amp meter if I remember right) is all you need. Along with the pigtail for the new alt. The sense wire goes to the bat wire. You will have to change your start switch to a 3 pos ign switch, or hook it up to an oil pressure switch. But no more headachs of that d@# regulator, except unhook it and throw it far away. :-)

Muck in the tank been drawn up into the fuel line? It could possibly be the lift pump. Has it a glass bowl type pre filter on the lift pump (our 1100 had) it might want a good clean out including the gauze at the top.If that does not work the diaphragm might be shot (any fuel in the oil?) It might just be the fuel filters want replacing . Try all those for a start.
