I just aquired a MH 30 and remember hearing that these did not have draft control on their 3 pt hitches. Is this true, I have a manual for it and the cylnder says it"s a depth o matic. From what I can find on this site the tractor was manufactured in 51.

Though you have great vintage hydraulics, the 44 Special, had the follow up hydraulics, with adjustments galore. Considered a 'version II'
Depth-o-Matic, this was the ticket, by late '52,
as the 30 became history. The 33 was more in the grey area, of advancing hydraulics, since few, if any, had the hydraulic manifold, similar to the
44 Special. On '52 30's, the central hydraulics remained as the '50 models had, basic Depth-o-Matic.

Could I replace the Depth-o-Matic cylinder on my 30 with that of one on the Special. I"ve seen them before and it looks like it would just bolt right on?

Even with so much friendly interchange on several
Harris tractors, the central hydraulics on a 44
Special may be the reverse approach. You would be
far ahead, simply buying a complete row crop Special, and own one of the ten best tractors ever
made. Probably cost you near even outlay, to retro
hydraulics, to a 30. Doubt the configuration would function properly, on a 30, even if it did
bolt up. The hydraulic manifold is the key part,
fitting a 30? Consider a 44 Special, about twice
the rewards of a decent 30.
