This MF 35 I just put the PTO shaft in is in dire need of some new shoes. Since it is the "mowing" tractor I thought about turf tires.

I am mowing with a 5' mower and will continue to do so. As a result, the wheels are set at minimum width to match the cutting width. Tire size is 12.4 x 28 (11" rim). Anyone know a turf tire that would fit that application? Most of what I have seen are like 13.x" or 14.x" and are on a 24" wheel.

Thanks,

Mark

quick question, is it restored?

if not, id put ag tires on her. When it comes to resale golf courses etc are the only people who really seem to want turf tires, and they want smart, restored tractors.

Unless your doing lawns etc that need to be smart, i dont really find that a tires make much of a footprint in dryish turf.

How about just leaving the tires that are on her on her until they start going down etc. In my opinion, a nearly bald ag tyre will make about the same footprint as a new turf tyre.

Also it means that if you decide to use it for anything else you dont have traction problems.

Just my opinion, i dont really know your situation.

Thanks,

I agree with your comments. Just thought I'd sniff it out. Yes, they are split and going down and need replacing.....you can bet one thing. The standard ag tires that the dealer has in stock will be much cheaper than any turf tire he'd have to order.
