Changing wheel width on FE-35?

With a 61" snowblower and 66" track and a new owner's manual, I have gotten the inevitable idea: make the wheels narrower to fit the blower!

Has anyone done this? -do the fenders still fit, or are they adjustable?
-will tire chains work, if needed?
-would I be able to con the tire guy into doing both if I buy a new back tire?

Getting ready for the icy blasts up here: the pool was frozen over this morning.

Hi,

If the tractor has bias- ply tires on it still ( ours still has, and if you have the money..... ) do yourself a favour and get too new radials for it!! You may not even need tire chains after you d this. With ours loaded we do not need them, and it is due for a new set of radials soon!!
