I just got my first tractor yesterday, its a MF 65. Can anyone tell me where I can find the serial number so I can look up the year and get a manual? Also, there are 2 smaller levers, that seem to move together, next to the one that raises and lower my PTO (brushhog), but I can;t seem to figure out what they do...can someone please tell me. Thanks for your help.

RobC - the lever on the right raises your 3-pt hitch. (PTO operation is w/ the lever on the left as you sit in the seat). The 2 additional levers adjacent to the 3-pt hitch lever set the draft (like how deep an implement is allowed to go into the soil). With the 2 levers pulled up, and the 3-pt hitch lever pushed all the way down, an implement would be limited from moving all the way down, and vice versa. So, you can set the draft, and then just pull the 3-pt lever up to raise the implement, or push the 3-pt lever down to lower it, but not have to worry about lowering it just the right amount each time (because you already set the draft). One of those levers is (I think) for fine tuning...I haven't figured that part out. The owners manual probably explains more succinctly than me. Hope that helps!

The serial number should be on a tag on the dash just below the Tach and oil pressure gauge. It will probably start with 3 prefix letters like SGM but could be other letters That is the only place that has the tractor serial number as far as I know. you find a lot of tractors it has been removed for some reason. If I can be of further help Email me

on grey market MF 65 (those made overseas) tag is on the side of the transmission underneath the brake pedals.

Hey 2x4, I don't want to be too strong with this, but, considering more 65's were made in Coventry than in the U.S. I rather think your tractors are the "grey" ones. Happy tractoring, Alec.
