Anyone know where I can find a photo of a real "1155 SPirit of America"? All I can find are photos of the diecast models.

Many thanks for any help.

I didnt know there ever was a real one?

I "lived" at the Massey Dealership in Terre Haute from 1974-1980 and I never saw anything that resembled one other than the toy. Actually only the plastic model at that.

I am thinking along the same lines because I just haven't been able to find anything after days of searching. Thanks for the input.

third party image

This is a picture of a MF 1135 that was owned by a family in Hume, Il. They bought it new from the Chrisman farm center in Chrisman, Il. They used it daily on the farm before selling it about 10 years ago. I don't know if it was a one-off thing done at the dealership or if there were more like it, it's the only one I've ever seen. It still looked like it was new when they sold it, as a kid I thought this was the coolest tractor around.

High guys, my 6 year old was asking about a model tractor I was looking for on e-bay (the Ertl 1155 Spirit of America tractor) when I saw your posting. In 1976 at the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, Ky, on display in the Massey Ferguson booth was a "Spirit of America 1135 tractor". It was not the one in the photo you are showing on this site. The whole hood was blue, crome rims, ect. Looked exactly like the Ertl 1155 model. I asked the rep lady at the counter if there was a 1155 version and she said yes, but she did not know any more about it. So- Massey Ferguson Corporate DID have a version they showed in the bicentennial year of the 1135 Spirit of America(because I saw it with my own eyes). I always wondered if there was a 1155 version, but I never seen any evidence of it other than the Ertl plastic model. Thanks! - Ferenc Vegh
