A guy mailed me a starter to rebuild, all he told me was that is was from a Massey 88. I'm normally a Ford guy, so i'm a little bit lost on this one. It appears to be a 12V starter, but it's been monkeyed with, so the numbers on the case aren't original. Anybody got any ideas?

Thanks
Jim Cox SW Missouri

Can't find any reference to a Massey 88. Massey harris had an 81. Massey Fergusen had an 85. The 85 would have been 12 volt where as the 81 would be 6 volt standard.

The Massey Ferguson 88 was a wheatland version of the 85, same mechanics, solid front axle, cast center wheels, diamond plate deck all around the seat, no 3ph.
