I"m trying to solve a fuel problem on my MF1130 and have drained both sides of the fuel tanks out. On the Right side drain bolt there was a screen on it that was bent and mushed up a bit, but this particular screen appeared fairly clean and not rusty. On the other side when I removed the bolt, there was no screen, also on that particular screen no fuel started to come out until I smacked the tank a few times... Is there supposed to be a screen there, and how long are the screens supposed to be? the bent one that was on the right hand side was only maybe 1" long? How do I get them out if there is supposed to be one on both sides and longer?
This is really getting to be a huge project....
I like diesel tractors, but I hate diesel fuel.....

You can replace the drain plug & screen if you want to , but it is really not neccesary. There is also a screen in the lift pump that you should check if you are having fuel problems.

What you are seeing is the inlet strainer. It is only on the right hand(as you sit on the tractor) fuel tank it connects to the fuel inlet line on the fuel system. The screen can be replaced your local MF dealer can get the part. The left hand tank drain has no screen.
