I recently bought a 1965 MF 135 starts good , runs good . I have only run it for short periods does not run hot. but it is losing a little water the radiator will be a little low. See no leaks .
I thought it might be going out the over flow pipe. It has a 4# psi cap and it checked out good on pressure test is this the right cap or does anyon have any ideas where water is going ?
thanks

I have same tractor with 3 cyl Perkins gas

if I add antifreeze until I can see it in filler, it will push some out the overflow on a hot day when the tractor warms up, somebody pinched the drain tube shut during overhaul so it really pushes past the cap

once it settles down to where it wants to be, everything is fine until I decide to add some more antifreeze

make sure your temp gauge is reliable and watch it like a hawk for a while, might not have a problem at all

Some possibilities are, water leak into motor oil passage, water leak into cylinder, compression leak into cooling system forcing water from system, engine running hot and evaporating water. A thorough compression check should discover all except a water leak into the motor oil. You've already verified the radiator cap is functioning normally, how about the thermostat? Are both radiator hoses relatively new, or could one/both have very small pin holes that only open under pressure and heat?
