I have a massey-harris 44. It has right with the 44 the letters hi-alt. So on both sides of the tractor it has 44 hi alt. Does anyone know what this is?

You have a "44 high altitude" wich is for altituds above 5000 feet. The biggest difference is higher compression pistons and different adjustments made on the carb.

The high altittude models used different jets in the carburetor.
