I am attempting to replace the seal and 0-ring on my 50s model ferguson 35. I was told that all that was necessary was to remove the three retaining bolts, remove the retainer plate and the PTO shaft would easily pull out. However, I am unable to pull the shaft out. I have the tractor in low gear, low range, with the PTO gear engaged. Am I missing a step? Piner

The Big O-ring on the outside of the bearing & seal retainer is holding the pto from sliding out. Stick something through the hole in the pto shaft & pry it back enough to clear that O-ring from the housing. I have only found very few that would just pull right out by hand. I have a picture for changing the pto seal if you would like to have it Email me
