when you put the tractor in gear after you start it and are holding the clutch petal all the way down it feels like the tractor tries to move a little. what is the problem, is it serious and what do I need to do. thanks

Live PTO? If tranny driven I'd say tweak your clutch linkage some, but with live, the drive clutch was depressed half way down the pedal travel and would have to go a long way to cause movement due to adjustment.

If you were being driven from the engine,(where else) seems the input shaft would be spinning and it would be very hard to get it to go into gear.

Thick fluid would affect you only if you got the shaft spinning and then it might try to self propell the tranny due to thick fluid.

On a slick surface with minimum traction? Maybe your body motion used to shift is making the tractor move (seem to move).

Puzzling!

Mark
