My neighbor is replacing the two stage clutch in his 255 and doesn't have the right clutch alignment tool. Is there some way to do this job properly with something we could make ourselves? Looks like the proper tool might need to have two different diameters. Any other things we should watch for? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I have tried to rig some way to line up those clutches without one of those tools but did not have much luck doing it. I have a picture I can send you with the dimension for having one of those tools turned out at a machine shop. Email me if you would like me to send it to you.

Thanks for the suggestions. By the time I got the replies, he had already come up with a quick method that worked. He wrapped an undersize alignment tool with electrical tape to get the right diameter and it worked. I"m not sure it would be successful everytime but it worked for this one job. Tractor is back in the field and running fine. Thanks again for the ideas. I"m sure they will come in handy next time.
