I have just bought a French Massey Ferguson 825( 1961 ) with a perkins 4.107 engine . I am after a manual and operators guide in English (My technical french is not good ) I believe from various books that the MF 825 is know as a MF 25 in America but every contact i have made with manual suppliers starts off with " if the MF 825 is a MF 25 we have a manual " . With all the experience of people in this forum can someone confirm that a MF 25 manual will help me with my problem and can you recommend the best manuals for my needs .

Dr F., Just a small point, but the 8 actually denotes a French made model 25 as with all French MF machinery of that time. In the U.K. all models were pre-fixed with a 7 as in the 735, 780 & 788 combines along with the 765 tractor, this I think had carried over from the Massey-Harris days. Cheers Ali

Thanks, I didn't know the 8 was for french made tractors. Years agoo I had the same problem trying to identify my 825. My dealer told me many years agoo it was for 8-speed.

Thanks for the way forward . I understand the parts for the perkins engine are widely available over here as it used in boats as well . I just needed the right manuals . Thanks again , much appreciated .
