I have just recieved a Massey-Ferguson from my Father-in-law. I don't know anything about tractors, this is my first. I think it is a MF-35
on the tag on the motor it has Z134A5009 #674588
It is a 4cly. gas with power steering. Iwas trying to find the oil type for engine and if it take power steering fluid. I know the axle is 80w-90. I am also trying to find part # for distributor, points & plugs and if I can get them from a automotive store. Thanks for any help.

I will 2nd the advice given below. Go to MF dealer and order 3 manuals: Operator Manual, Repair Manual, and Parts Manual. Get only real MF brand manuals, others are a waste of time. Study the manuals and learn about your tractor BEFORE you start changing fluids and such.

Hi,

Actually, the fluid for trans, hydraulics, rear diff is 90w hydraulic mineral oil, NOT 80w90 gear oil!! It is available anywhere.

Find out for sure which model it is and then goto a MF or AGCO dealer and order a MF parts manual and a MF service manual. All the info you need is in them, and will save you from any costly mistakes!!

Take care

Will

In Texas it's 90w GL-1, mineral oil.....some Wallyworld's have it if located in a farming community; along with farm tractor batteries and other goodies.

For the engine, regardless of gas or diesel, I use a diesel "big rig oil". 15w-40 Shell Rotella T, Chevron Delo, or Mobil Delvac. They contain the latest additives for all gas and diesel engines. Wally has that too.
