Is there anything special about adjusting valves? I assume gas tank must be removed and a new valve cover gasket installed. Is new gasket available? Is gas tank held in with two spring loaded bolts in front and two bolts in rear? Also gas tank has internal light surface rust. What is good method to clean rust from inside tank when it is off the tractor?

You have it right. 2 bolts by battery and the 2 spring bolts on front of gas tank. I didn't even unscrew these just moved them out of the slot. Don't forget gas line. Also when I was doing mine I managed to get the metal line against the starter selonoid. One of my dummer moves. Not good. Take the time to unhook the battery. Gasket was available at MF dealer. Remember these are solid lifters so they are noisy - I tried to adjust mine to get rid of some of the noise. Found them to be right on the money. As far as rust in the tank, if you really want to get rid of it take the tank to a person who repairs automobile tanks. Lots Luck
