Hi everyone,
We have a MF 124 small bailer. 3 times this season the knotter drive chain has broken, taking the needles with it each time ( pretty expensive at $106.00 for each needle times 6, plus labor) Problem is the dealer can't figure out why this is happening. I've checked that things are within specs, and made sure that the hay is at correct dryness. Any one have any suggestions, or is this and inherant problem with is this model. Thanks.

Is the chain worn, or did you replace it? I work at a shop that makes sprockets, and worn chains will do in lots of things, including the sprockets. If you havn't replaced it already, that's a great place to start.
