For some reason the multipower suddenly stopped working on our MF165. Anything easy (!) I should look for before contemplating openning things up?

Thanks.

My 165 Multi-power quit with me. When troubleshooting, I found the linkage going into the top of the tranmission had come lose. Tighened one bolt just a little and it begain working again. Hope this is not too late and that is all that is wrong with you.

My 255D quit one time. I used WD 40 on all the linkages and where it went into the transhousing and it "unstuck". Talk about luck! It's worked OK since.

By not working do you mean tractor doesn't move or just the multipower doesn't shift?

It the tractor doesn't move then it could easily be the multipower unit itself.

If the multipower doesn't shift it could be multipower valve control linkage, the control valve, the auxiliary pump, and some tractors had a valve to connect the auxiliary pump to the regular pump to get more flow to the remotes and that probably killed the multipower. Could be a simple as the valve moved, or as bad as the guts of the multipower clutches ground to gravel.
