I have just bought a little MF made in Paris I"m not sure of the year of manufacture or the model the plate has SNMY I"ve seen the posts on the meanings of those letters the serial number is 1103247.

How can I determine the model?

The MF 25 and 30 were powered by the Perkins four cylinder 25 hp A4.99 and 30hp A4.107 if your tractor has the bigger cc 3 cylinder then it is definitely a 35 although earlier 35s were fitted with the often difficult to start Standard Motor Company 4 cyl diesels. The 130 which was just an update to the 25 & 30 had a surprisingly narrow and shallow gearbox with a large clutchbell housing with oil cooler pipes emerging from it just under the starter motor, and going towards the oilcooler in front of the radiator. There maybe an additional mid mounted PTO shaft for powering mid mounted mowers. None of these features are found on the 35. Look at the back axle trumpet castings the 130 had a bulge near the rear wheel on each side which contains a reduction gear this was not present on the 35 although a much larger version was used on the 65/165. Do be careful with these on the 130 as they are prone to leaks and bearing wear, if not sorted then damage to the reduction units is supposed to be expensive.

I believe that if it was a french made tractor it would be a 25, the 35s were made in Engalnd or the US.
