Hello to all. I am looking into purchasing a Massy Ferguson M300 backhoe loader and have 2 questions for now 1) How many speeds / gears does the tractor have on the gear shift knob it shows 1-5 w/R but I can only get 1 foward and reverse I suspect something is wrong with the transmission????
2) On the right floor board there are 2 throttel pedals one marked R and one marked F. Is it correct to assume that if you are in reverse you should use the one marked R and if you are in a forward gear you should use the one marked F?? Thanks in advance!

Hi Todd I think what you actually have is either an MF50 or MF50A tractor it comes with an MF300 loader & an MF54 backhoe. The Instant Reverse transmission you describe here is usually only have 4 speeds 2 different speeds that you select with the main shift lever and 2 different speeds you select with the short lever. When you push the forward pedal it will move forward at a speed according to what gears you have selected with the shift levers and when you push the reverse pedal it will move backwards according to what gears you have selected with the shift levers. There are a few that had 3 speeds in the main transmission. If I can be of further help E-mail me
