My 202 workbull has ben losing power when it gets hot. After running for about 1/2 hour it starts losing power. If I choke it, it will run better, but eventually I have to run it fully choked. Adjusting the carb helps a little, and I don't need to keep it fully choked, but eventually I will have to choke it again. I can only run it in low gear at this time. I just had the carb rebuilt and a new fuel line. Gas tank is fine, and I have a new sediment bowl/shut off valve. Any Ideas?

Remove the fuel line at the carb and check the fuel flow. You may have a partially plugged fuel line or filter. If not there remove the fitting on the carb, some carbs had an additional screen on the end of that fitting, specially if it's a 90 degree fitting. If there is good flow at the carb, you could have junk behind the float needle restricting flow.

i took it apart last night and the strainer at the 90 degrees fitting was full of black stuff. I think it is from the decayed float from the fuel gauge that I removed this spring. The new fitting was $3; is there any problem with putting in a new fitting until when it clogs until all the black stuff is gone??

I am not familiar with your tractor, however, the owners manual for my TO30 states: the fuel system is used for additional cooling under load. This means the power jet must be adjusted while the engine is under load(plowing etc). Consequently the engine will idle rich. Perhaps your engine is in the same category. It costs nothing to try it.
