Hi I am looking for parts for my manual steering shaft MF-135 (S/N 9A 76553). Parts needed are from the Massey Ferguson manual MF-27 on page 8. From the exploded view (31) Bushing, (29) Bearing cup, (28) O-Ring,(26) Bearing cone. If any one knows where a source to buy I would appreciate it.

Thanks for the follow up. The bearings are in the bottom of the steering box and I can't find any part numbers. Ray is the thrust bearing you talked about the same as the bearing cone and bearing cup I had asked about. If so and when I find them, do they press in the bottom of the steering housing? There are about six shims on mine and that may be enough, if not, I can use one of them for a pattern. Also the shaft and nut seem to be ok, is the nut supposed to travel freel on the shaft once it is out of the tractor.

I just rebuilt the manual steering box for my 1968 MF135. Parts are available from YT suppliers, ----- -- davistractor.com and most tractor parts/salvage yards order them from Sparex. The upper and lower thrust bearings may be replaced with Delren replacements from davistractor.com for about $10 each. The most difficult part to locate is the shim pack, it is no longer made. The alternative is to make them yourself using the steering box opening as a pattern. The shop manual describes them.

Do you happen to have the old parts?

If so, you should find a number on the bearing cup, and possibly also the cone (or if they were made as a set only only one or the other would have the number. That number can be crossed to a CR, SKF, or other bearing manufacturer from just about any source that handles bearings.

The "O"-ring should have a standard size (width and diameter), and the people who handle the bearing should be able to set you up with the "o"ring too.

Bushing you might have to machine a replacement.
