Being a bit of a rookie, my uncle is taking me to see one of these in the next week. Says it could do the discing, haying, etc on our small fields. Is this a good dependable machine? Any problems I should be looking for? I bet that 6 cylinder sounds nice.
Any info appreciated.

THe 44-6 with a 226 CID engine was never tested at Nebraska. The 44 4 cylinder with a 260 CID engine was. It tested at 31 drawbar and 47 on the PTO.The owners manual estimates the 44-6 drawbar horsepower at 27 so the PTO was probably around 43-43 ,horepower. I remeber my brother plowing with Dad's 44-6 in 4th gear with a 2-16 " bottom plow. The dirt just flew.LOL. I am in the prcess of restoring a 44-6 so I'll hear that engine once again and yes they did sound good.
