I have recently acquired a 1958 MF-65. It's in good condition but I want to put it to good work (mowing a few acres and tracks on a horse farm). Can anyone tell, what do i need to know about finding a compatible mower? are the attachments universal.

Good advise but I"ll comment...you don"t want to mow much over 6" high with a finish mower if yours is anything like mine, A vee belt that is not much over 1/2" thick pulling three blades on a five foot mower...pi$$ poor engineering to me but sells a lot of belts for the company. Anything higher should be cut with a rotary mower, bush hog, brush hog, slasher, shredder or whatever you want to call it.
Wait till after mowing season is over...maybe you might get a little better deal but I doubt it. Used 5" finish mower...about $400 and up...new decent one...about $1000/$1100. Used 5"/6" rotary cutter at a farm sale...about $300/$and up...depending on condition and color. Better get someone who is a good judge of equipment if going for used...you can get stuck, reamed, screwed, bored or drilled or whatever you want to call it. Fred OH

A 6" bush hog or a 72" finish mower should work fine.

Any 3 point mower will attach to your MF-65. The -65 has about 50 HP to work with.
