Smoking FE-35

I have a recently rebuilt Fe35 4clynder diesel. The fuel system was redone also. It always smokes. it has good power and burns no oil. Any ideas.

My FE35 smoked at tickover after I had rebuilt it (don"t know about before, it was a non runner). I improved the situation slightly by changing to HD30 Oil, although there was no sign of it using oil. However, I"ve just finished a 3 furrow plough, and after a few hours hard work I now have very little smoke at all.

Martin, Does it have a cold start element screwed into the intake manifold, they can let diesel dribble into the engine and cause excessive smoke. Undo the fuel pipe on it and unscrew it from the manifold and hook the fuel pipe onto it, fuel should only come out when you turn your starter key anti clockwise. Good Luck, sibby.
