Massey Harris ID problem

I recently acquired a Massey Harris tractor with the model number stamped as 333G1RF and a serial number stamped as 22015.

I have looked for the year identification information on the serial number sight but I am not sure since none of the serial numbers seem to fit. On the side of the cowling is printed in nice yellow letters " 333 power steering". Does this indicate this tractor to be a model 33. Can someone tell me for sure what year this tractor was produced or where to find more definite information on this model?

Hoping to hear from someone.

What you have there is a 1956 Massey Harris 333. The 333 was the model after the 33, and was only produced for 2 years, 56 and 57.It was built around the merger period and as like most Massey Harris tractors was dropped for the new ferguson design. The 333G1RF indicates a 333, G for gas, likely the R for rowcrop, and F for foot clutch. Hope this was some help.

Many thanks to Mike Leggett for the information on the Massey Harris 333. Mike, does this also mean that this tractor is considered a "pony" model or some other "model name"? I think I also read on some other chat question that the "33g1rf" was actually a model 44. Since I could not actually find a model 333 listed I wondered what "model" to search for when looking for parts or manuals and such. Do you know??

Mike is absolutely right. It is a model 333, period. The name models were Pony, Pacer, Colt and Mustang. They were all small tractors under 25 horsepower and have nothing to do with your tractor. Neither are 33's with letters behind their model number to be confused with a 44. Two totally separate models. Tom
