MF65 Hydro Pump- No Filter

I have a "58 MF-65. I was replacing the rear
fluids and have the inspection plates off. NO
Intake filter assembly. Nothing.... There is the grond speed gear, the output shaft, on the right side the control linkage and stand pipe... and the pump. nothing else.

The left side of the pump shows two bolt holes but
i do not see where the intake really is.

Did all MF-65 pumps have the filter assembly? I
have an early one SN 651548. Is it possible that it was not equiped with the filter? It does not look as if the pump has ever been removed, but you neve

Jeff, Early ones did not a hydraulic strainer fitted. cheers.

I was hoping it was somthing like that I personall was not looking forward to pulling the damn thing. Although I probally should as my arms leak down pretty good if the pump is not running. I didn't look to see where it was leaking from before daining.

Perhaps I'll drain the fluid back out this fall and rebuild over the winter.

I also left all my manuals at work so I could not check the parts book
