A friend recently gave me quite a few parts for 44 & 33 masseys. I have all the main parts(frame, wheels, engine, tranny, differential, bonnet, fuel tank, fenders) and a few other pieces. All this has to be restored somewhat and I was wondering before I start what future problems I might get into in finding the smaller parts. Should I buy a complete tractor and rebuild that and is MH the way to go. It always seemed to me that farmalls and cockshutts had the parts easiest to find.

Unless you can grab a 'donor' MH, parked by a tree, how will some bulk parts, equal a running correct red tractor? The transmission case will
swap, but is there 13 gallons of gear oil in it,
being free? Radiator, fuel tank capacity not the
same. The clutch assembly, spline, lighter on a 33. Engines: 260 verses 201. Free may get you half there, but to what, a 44, or 33? Someone has to assess your 'good' parts, with a plan of what you need to purchase, for a positive result
to your efforts.

I should have known I would receive a response like so but I am not thinking this way just to have a tractor. The challenge in front of me is what I see. Then my end result will be really special. I would end up with a 33 or 44 I just have to get all the other parts. I never mentioned that I only had these single parts. I have multiples of them all for both models. My first step is to see what I have and choose the best parts all for one model,of course. Hopefully my project whichever way I go can be seen here some day.
