I have a 2775 MF with a 640 perkins V8, the crankshaft recently boke in it. I was wondering if anyone builds a kit, in which i could replace the perkins with a 5.9 L cummings engine.

Hi,

A few thoughts here..... ..... ..... .The new AGCO tracotrs run B series Cummins diesels in them. ( B 3.9L B 6.7L ) I wonder if the bell housing bolt pattern of all B series engines is the same? Would make a conversion alot easier if it was. Depending on which ( how new ) 5.9 you have it will be either a B series or a ISB series.

Take care

Will

Hi,

It would be cheaper to fix the 540 V8, not to mention the 5.9L Cummins has less power, and( in my opinion ) is inferior to the Perkins!!

Take care

WIll

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the 5.9. I know of one Oliver with one in place of a Cat V-8 pushing over 200 HP for a few years now and no problems. Plus they are very fuel efficient. I agree Perkins are still good engines, but the Cummins is also.
