I have a Massey Ferguson 35 on hood, it has a 4 cylinder diesel not a perkins. Stamped on the left side of the transmission is 182-840-M1.

What do I have and where can I find the serial number?

Thank you,
Bucky

Hi I saw your posting for help to ID your tractor, if you still need some help let me know and I will send you an attachment called "Help me to help you", it asks you lots of questions for you to find the answers too and send back, from those answers I will be able to help you.

I use original Ferguson reference books and information I have obtained over the years.

I have ID Ferguson Tractors all over the world via the internet, and would only be too pleased to help you.

George , This site seems to be european. It has massey numbers that I have not seen before. There is a picture of an ORCHARD 145. There is a lot of serial numbers and other tech data and many pictures. There is two or three pages to look over. Ray-s

Hi Ben

Most of my details go up to the last MF35 but I still have learned some tips on the MF135.

Slide under the tractor from the front, and look for the angled part of the bottom of the engine at the front, the casting date for the engine are there, and as the the engines did not sit on the shelf very long this will give you a good starting point for the year of your tractor.

hope this helps

Serial number is on a plate on the bottom left side of the dash board. Sounds like you have a Standard diesel. Not a bad engine I hear, but somewhat hard to start when cold.
