The older 700 series Ford loaders will fit the 165, if you're willing to weld up a belly bracket. It works great on mine.

If you have more heavy use in mind the MF236 loader would be a better(and more expensive) choice. Look on the sides of your bell housing for tapped bolt holes. The belly bracket on the 236/165 mounting kit bolts up from below(inspection cover)& from the sides. Not all 165's have the side holes. The bracket will still fit, but you loose some load capacity.

I would say yes. I was looking @ one this week on ebay, but could not go get it on seller's time frame. The frame is similar to the ford 700-series which is mounted on my 165 now.

The MF 99 I saw looked like the rear axle mount extensions were longer than my 701, if so, you could find or fabricate simple axle brackets instead of the more complicated belly bracket I used.

I think, like mine, it would be a great light to medium use FEL. I would try to find a more contemporary one to the 165(like a 236)for heavy
use. They have stronger & better load distributing mounts designed for the tractor.

ss,

I believe the MF236 loader would fit your tractor. Also a Bush Hog 2400, 2425 and 2426 are matched to the 165. The first thing you need however is to look at the bellhousing on your tractor to see if the 4 hole bolt pattern is there. If you don't have that mounting spot it may be harder to find a loader. I just put a BH 2426 loader on my 255 and loaders off a 165 would also fit my tractor. Good luck.
