Proud to be a new owner of a '68 165 diesel. I know just about nothing of resources for parts and rebuild kits. I need:
to rebuild gear end/ bearing end of the power steering pump. Hoping to avoid buying a complete unit. Was told it worked but leaked so badly it was removed. Driving now with out it.
Former owner had problem with 3 pt hitch, disassembled from under the seat,( I guess didn't know to change filter from side panels) left apart for 4 years and now it's all mine. Hyraulic pump appears to work but curious about the CORRECT way to check pressure from pump to eliminate it as part of the problem.
Also looking for the right rebuild kit for the lift piston and other 3 pt hyrdaulics as I'd like to take apart, rebuild the obvious and see what's next. I do sound hopeful, don't I?
Thanks for any pointers.

Roy,

I am too dumb to post a link to Big Dean's web site so unless someone else posts it for you, just scan down some of the posts here until you find a link/message by Big Dean. His web site has great info for the Massey's and much of it will help with your 165. If you have a MF dealer near by go ahead and order a Operator's manual, Service/Shop manual and a Parts manual. If you keep the tractor (165's are keepers) it will be money well spent. If a dealer is not available go ahead and order the manuals from this site. They are good but I believe the originals are better for the money.
Good luck.
