A 44 MH Special is nearly parted out. It has a factory adjustable wide front with no welds. It also has a radiator that looks good also. What value might they have? I am more familiar with JD and IH parts. Thanks for any information. Mike-eastern North Dakota

Even if original, looking at half a century of wear. Any neglect of grease, bushing care, wedge
bolts, cause steering linkage to wobble away.
The worm & sector gear are machine shop projects.
A parked, rusty WFE seems tight, until you clean
off the rust, discover bad bushings, oval holes
on tube adjustment, worn lower wedges. Unless you
shim the pivot pin, all is vulnerable. With all
brackets, steering box, tired value one hundred.
You can put 3 or 4 more into parts, pro-labor.
Not your choice investment,to buy as a wise deal.
Front rims decent? Yard, or private?

Hi Mike,
Just curious whether you ever removed the adjustable wide front and started a rebuild on it? By the sounds of it, it could be a real challenge to have it "articulating" like new. Wondering what work was involved to make it serviceable again.
Thank you.

The tractor is private. The model/serial number is 44G |RF 50639. The rims are missing, just the cast centers remain. Thanks for the advice. Mike

Thank you, Mike. The four tabs that secure the rim, break. Welding is minimal, since lack of
space requires grinding it down. Replacing tab
means curving, and bending, then grinding. Nice
to find 'parked' 16" rims, waiting for you. The
radiator must be a gamble, if left. Buying today,
next week the fragile core is apart, at the shop.
Less risk if coolant were still up, but since
most parts pulled, it's probably low or empty. Is
the mounted cylinder missing? Parked for years?

Hi Harris Guy, I have not seen the cylinder you mention. Yes, it has been standing for years with some of the covers off. Thank you for your help. Mike
