I am replacing the oil pan gaskets on my MF 35 with the 3 cyl. Perkins. I am having trouble fugureing out how the instal tha front and rear gaskets. I bought my gaskets from Walt's Tractors on the web. The fron and rear gaskets came as straight cork(?), not shaped, and was a little wider than deep. They areto wide to fit into the channel on the block and then raise the pan back up, and I have not been able to get them to stay in place when placing them on the pan and raising the pan.

How should I do this? Are there better shaped gaskets from the dealer or should I use some sort of adhesive??

Thanks,

Tony

Tony, You contact cement the gasket to the underside of the block, make sure the lil end bits are in the grooves, then work the corks in last with no gasket goo, into the grooves with a flat blade screwdriver, then lift the sump (oil pan) up to the block last, good luck, sibby.

Thanks Sibby!

I took your advice and the increased patience a new day brings and just finished. Thanks again.
