I am trying to help an electrican here at work determine the year of what he says is a MH Pony. He has given me a serial number that I can't find. it is W 62 A 602 2. I have printed out two posts that tell where the S# is and will give to him to recheck.

I've checked the YT S# list, archives and the list at>Link

Somewhere I ran into a reference on MH Ponys that said production was from 1947 to 1954, with a short run in 1957 of around 170, as I remember. Yet the YT S# list shows numbers for 1955 & 1956. Confusing to someone not familar with the MH tractor line.

Thanks for the help,
Larry

There was a run of Ponies produced in 1957. These tractors were built in the USA instead of Canada, specially made to use up stock. The serial #'s for these Ponies are PGA 24049 - PGA 24319. The # you are showing is likely a casting date, and not a serial #.

Just restored PGA2168A and the number you describe is on the engine, behind the oil fill spout. That is the engine no. The tractor serial number is on the right side of the tractor frame, just below the front of the engine. This tractor is still working for its keep in the Southern California desert. PS, would like to find a rear axel or two, mine have been rewelded several times. Good luck!
