MF 245 bypass top arm draft control?????

I have a MF 245 and bush hog 30 acres of old pasture. When ever I hit any rough turf the top arm of the 3 point hitch pushes in on the draft control located right beneath the back of the seat.

It then temporarily lifts the implement. I know what this is for when plowing etc.. but when bush hogging it leaves strips of "Mohawk like cut."

I have temporarily hooked a 1/2 inch chain inplace of the top arm and this works well but would rather use the adjustable link. Is there a way for me to do this by "Turning off" the draft?

Big Dean,
Draft lever is all the way up. Using the position lever to control the height. This happens with the draft lever all the way up and the control lever almost all the way down (to the height I need to cut the field.)

Thanks Big Dean and take care of the old ticker, we are in the same boat.

Louie do you have the draft lever (outside lever) in the fully raised position & using the position lever (inside lever) to control the lift height this should stop that.
