We have a new Massey dealer in town and I was looking at the 400 series tractors.Does anyone have any experiences with these or opioions? They look like old style, simple tractors that are heavy built without all the bells and whistles that many other new tractors have. They are a fair bit cheaper than the comparable Deere and New Hollands.Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!

I have a Massey 271xe which is the exact same tractor. I bought it new 2 years ago and have never been disappointed with it. I farm with it and it has done every task I put it to and comes back asking for more. It is the second new tractor I have bought and may be the last. The only difference between it and the 471 is the sheet metal. Just go get one!

Hi,

I too was ( and am still looking, for later on ) at a 471 4wd. They are bare bones dependable work horses. Sliding gear trannies, shuttle shift optional , and live or independant PTO ( I prefer live, more dependable long term, i think anyway ) I wouldnt think twice of buying one. Eventualy I will!! You wont go wrong there!!

I hope this helps!!

Will
