Hydraulic problem ?

I have a MF 165 diesel, with 2 Hyd. wetlines. Bought a NH 476 haybine, and when I started mowing hay I could not get the hydraulics to lift the mowing knives. The only way to lift with the hydraulics is to lower the 3 point lift arms clear down and raise them all the way back up back up, and then lift the Hyd. handle, and then it picks right up.
Wondering why this is ?

On the handle where you raise the 3 point arms, there was a place clear to the top and you push it to the right and that is " Constant Pumping ". My tractor had some rust on the area and I could not see the words. Works fine now, and will lift the front of the haybine perfectly, and the back door on my round baler.
Thanks for the info.

Where are these lines plumbed into the tractor and what lever are you using to control the remote hydraulics? I do know what a haybine is.

Not quite sure of your termanology, I assume you mean that you have an external spool block powering what ever a haybine is. Assuming that this is piped into the ferguson pump you will only get pressure when the arms are raised to the 'constant pumping' position, otherwise the pump is not operating. You need to fit a diverter valve to the top of the stack pipe if you want spools with the arms down.
