Hello all,

I have been over on the Ford Discussion list but am now thinking of replacing my 8n with a MF135. Even though I love the old 8n I need more tractor and really need a FEL. I am thinking of purchasing my neighbors 135 with FEL. I am not sure what year it is, but it has the perkins 3cyl. diesel and is in very good condition. The only thing I don't like about it is that the FEL runs off the internal hydraulic pump (under the seat) and is VERY slow. How hard (and how much) would it be to add a front mount pump to drive the FEL. My other option is a Ford 1910 which I do not know much about. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I have a 2N, 8N, and a MF 135 Diesel. My family has had 12-15 135's. The 135 is the best tractor ever built. Hands down.

The 135 is probably one of the best little tractors ever built. The perkins engine is as rugged as they come. As far as the loader, if I remember correctly, there was a front mouted pump kit that you could install to run loader or other hydraulics which coupled to the crankshaft. You may be wise to ask some of the oldtimers about this. It has been a long time since I have worked on one. Maybe Big Dean would have some wisdom on this.
