I won't be bringing the tractors home until my neighbor gets back from MN. I did stop and look at them again on the way from town. You mentioned chrome on the 555. I looked and there was a strip for the left side but not attached. The right strip is missing but the hood piece is completely intact. Both rear tires on both tractors have held air for at least 4 days now so that is a good sign. I understand there was dang near a configuration for every state. The 55 has a hand clutch and arched front axle. The 555 has straight front axle and hand clutch. What configurations are these tractors? And finally, the serial # for the 55 is 15569 and the serial # for the 555 is 21233. What years are these tractors? Also, I don't know if I told you or not but they are both diesels. Thanks for the help.

hello not sure about 555 but the 55's had either straight or arched front axle. the straight axle is just a standard and the arched axle is a western special. And i can sympathize with what you say about a different configuration for every state. I own 5 masey 55's and none of them are the same.
