A racecar fabricator buddy of mine has a few old chrysler hemis laying around. With all the hype about the new hemi dodge trucks, I mentioned how cool it would be to put one of them there old chrysler hemis in my MF 65. Looks like I'll be the owner of the only bright orange and black, hemi powered mf65 around these parts ! She already turns heads when I cruise her to town for a grocery run, I can hear it now, that got a hemi in it..... . you betcha !
Anybody have any suggestions or tips on a v/8 engine swap please let me hear them.

IMHO you will surely ruin the tractor. After you change out the engine, it won't even bring scrap iron prices. Leave it alone.

How would that work? On my 65 the Perkins engine *IS* the tractor, or most of it...it bolts up to the transfer case and tranny system, and everything else is bolted to it. Sounds like a big job to retrofit some other engine and still have a MF 65.

Re-powers seem to go best with Oliver tractors,
Cummins engines. ShepVA has some nice pics of his efforts posted. He is using these solid green
tractors for work. That U-frame design, is the
ticket. Pulling the engine out of a 65 leaves only a pile of pieces. Anything MF built before
the 180 didn't even have engine stress plates attached. Your time might well be better spent
painting your mother's house.
